About the Artist Debra Freeman
I am blessed and honored to bring joy to others through the gift of my paintings. I have had the privilege of painting commissioned works of art for so many who are in love with their pets.
I take my two passions; creating original portraits and my love of animals- and meld them into pieces of art that bring out the unique personality and joyful expressive characteristics of my loving and faithful furry subjects.
Capturing the essence of unconditional love that our Faithful friends are known for, I use oil paint to ensure richness and durability. I use both the “old masters” and contemporary culture for inspiration and reference.
I received my formal undergraduate education from CSUN and Art Center College of Design. and my Master of Art degree from UCSB in 1978. For over 30 years I directed the art departments in both the public and the private school systems. I have raised three amazing and highly accomplished children, countless pets and one faithful and loyal husband!!!
My husband and I along with two of our adult children, recently moved from our lifelong home in Westlake Village, California to our new farm in Columbia, Tennessee where we have a horse sanctuary and art studio.
